Meet The New Blog!

Hello my crafty friends, happy TGIF to everyone. I hope your day is going well and that you are looking forward to some fun this weekend.

Notice anything different? Yep, I have a new look on the blog! Isn't it beautiful?!! My sweet and generous friend, Loll of Stamping with Loll gave me a complete over haul and make my blog beautiful.  She even made me a beautiful watermark as well! Thanks so much for all your hard work Loll! I love my new look, how about you all? I'm so in awe at Loll's talents and generosity. I always say how blessed I am, and I mean it. I am a very blessed person, even with the loss of my husband, I know I'm still blessed in so many ways and this is just one of them.

I do have a card by the way. But just had to show off my blog first. lol I wanted to try out this technique for a while now, although I don't think I did it quite right. I'm still satisfied pretty much with the outcome. But I do need to find out how to do it correctly. I kinda' just did it on my own without a tutorial. Yeah, I know, I need to watch a tutorial. lol Also, there is a boo boo with making this card. I had planned on watercoloring with my Zigs, but got confused on what ink to stamp in that wouldn't smear. Yea, you guess it, I used the wrong ink! I used Tuxedo Black by Momento, the ink for alcohol markers. I have since labeled my black inks so I know which ones to use for what! So as I started adding some water with my water brush, my ink started to smear and I realized my mistake. Ok, so I thought lets see if I can just color in with the Zigs. So I was careful not to touch the black outline to much and colored my flower. I think I managed to save it as you have to look really close to see the smudges. Or as least I'm hoping that a lessor critical person will not notice! I am in need of thank you cards so I made this one into a thank you, but I really got to make some masculine ones for my son's who come and help me out.  Anyway here is the card, as always the recipe is at the end of the post.

As always, thanks for stopping by and visiting a spell with me. I so love when you do as your comments bring me sunshine and smiles! Crafty hugs,

Edited to add that one of my commentators, Karen, suggested that I linked up with Happy Little Stampers so I did.

Little things....

Hello my crafty friends, hope you are having a great ending to your week. Mine has been so so and right now I am taking care of my second to youngest granddaughter. So that will keep me occupied for until Friday evening when her dad comes to get her.

CAS Mix Up is on it's second challenge and I thought I would try and play along. Luckily I had the stenciled background and leaf already in my box of things that I didn't use. So I just threw a card together. It looks like it too, but I will still use it. I had wanted the brick wall for a window frame, but do you think I can find my window frame die anywhere?!! NO! I know I'm over looking it somehow. Anyway if this isn't CAS enough Loll or Bonnie, please delete it! The challenge this month is to use a stencil, and stamping and other technique of our choice. So I have my stenciled background, and of course my stamping is my sentiment. The technique of my choice is the leaf, I used alcohol inks on the felt pad and pounced the inks on this leaf that was cut from photo paper. Been in my cast off box for over a year, so it is good to use it. Added some sequins and called it done. Not sure if my card pieces are considered snippets or not, so might go over to the Snippets Playground before the door closes.

As always, thanks for stopping by for a spell. I've had some pretty weather this week and it was good to have visitors on nice days like these. Your comment are so special to me and bring me much joy and smiles. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Here's to You!-Cardz TV Gallery Post

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful week. It is really nice having longer daylight now. Bret doesn't have long now before he will be done with his second year of college. He got an internship, but not with the company he worked for last year. They were to slow and another company snatched him up. A BIGGER company! One he really wanted to work for. He had a job fair at college and before the week was up, they called him to come down that Friday for an interview and they hired him! So he will be doing job estimations for them. He is all pumped about having his own office as well. Then he gets a funny look on his face and says that he will have to be very careful because he could cost them a lot of money. lol In July he will be put on their health care, which I am so happy about and if they signs on to come back next summer they will keep him on it. They also told him if he sticks with them, they will hire his straight out of college permanently. He chose the school he did because of their 100% hire rate. Looks like it paid off for him and I couldn't be happier for him. Ok, I know you are here to see a card, not my babbling!

I have a two birthday cards that are exactly the same except where I placed my sentiment and embellishment. Let's face it, we all need birthday cards for our stash. My card today is one that I saw on Pinterest and your can find it here. This gal is the queen of CAS and I adore all of her cards.  Now I have two more birthday cards to add to my birthday book. Recipe is at the end of this post. Thanks for coming by and visiting me today and for listening to all my chattering. Your comments always make my day and put a smile on my face. Crafty hugs, Brenda

Sorry this one is blurry. But you get the idea that I moved the sentiment to the top.

Hello-A sketch challenge

Hello my crafty friends, hope your week is going well. Mine is going ok. Same ole, same ole. As I was doing come commenting, a sweet and very talented lady, Michele encouraged me to come play along with the challenge she designed for. That challenge is called CAS(E) This Sketch.  I wasn't sure if I would or not, but told her that I might. And of course she said it would make her smile if I did. So how could I not? Not really in a mood for creating, but there was a sketch and I thought I would give it a try. The first try I didn't like. So tried again and here is what I came up with. I will keep the other one for next April's:
April Fool Day, My big fat boo boo that Darnell hosted for the first time this year.

She is really a hoot and I love to read her posts. You should go check her out as she will definitely make you chuckle. Lots of wild things go on over there as she has Hammy and his family helping her out. Don't know Hammy?? Well then you are in for a treat, go on over and meet Hammy and his family!

So I'm linking my card today up with CAS(E) This Sketch. Not very creative (but it is CAS), I always have a hard time thinking out of the box. Michele does a fabulous job of thinking out of the box as does the other design team members. Go check them out by clicking on the pink CASE This Sketch up above.

And here is the sketch!

As always thank you for stopping by for a spell today. I always enjoys your visits and your comments always make me smile. Crafty hugs, Brenda
