Bling and Glitter! Jo's Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, it's Friday once again and time for another Jo's Funday Friday challenges.  This week we were asked to make a project using bling. That could be glitter, skittles, gems, etc...So I kept my project simple. My card base is 4x4, I stamped 2 butterflies from an old SU stamp set with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored my butterfly with my Spectrum Noir markers. I cut around them and layered one down on my card base. The second butterfly got layered on top of the 1st butterfly and I lifted the wings. I put glitter glue all over the wings of the top butterfly and then added some dyed skittles to my card base. Stamped my sentiment from My Creative Time and called it done. This card took me less than 30 minutes to complete! Which is a record for me. lol Go see what inspiration  my design team sisters have for you!! There is a wonderful sponsor over at Jo's Funday Friday so go check out what goodies you could win and get a project linked up with us. We so love when you get crafty with us!

Disney Fun!-SOUS Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, can you believe how fast July is going?!! It's only about a month before school starts! My last year as a mom to a High School kid. sniff, sniff But it will be fun and exciting to see my baby move on to his next phase of school, college! Well enough about that lets get to a new SOUS die cut challenge-our theme was Disney!!! I love the Disney characters and although we have been to Disney just one time, we really didn't do the theme parks much at all because of my health reasons. What we did see was amazing and I'm so glad that I got to have that experience. I also think any Disney character can be use most anytime on a lot of things. Especially for children. I have a grandson who will be turning 2 in August so I decided to recycle a Bath and Body Works bag into a gift bag for his birthday gifts.  Here is what the bag looked like before I decorated it, I thought the blue checks would be great for a boy:

I first started by covering up the pink B&BW sign with paper from DCWV Celebrations Stack. Using Art Philosophy from CTMH I cut out the background starburst shape using DCWV Celebrations Stack. Then I cut the head shot of Mickey out using Mickey & Friends Cricut cartridge. I pop dotted him up on the starburst shape. I am thinking of adding "happy birthday" to the bag as well, but wanted to just "look" at the bag for a while to decide if I really wanted it or not. lol Added a ribbon bow and that is it, simple and easy peasy! Make a great gift bag and I get to recycle the bags that come into the house.

Please go check out what Disney inspiration my design team sisters have over at SOUS, I will certainly be inspired!! Then make a Disney theme project of your own using any die cut machine or dies that you want and link up with us. We love when you get crafty with us!!

Life's A Beach! BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, welcome to a new Monday and a new challenge over at BBTB2! Our talented and super sweet Caroline is our host this week and she has chosen the theme "the beach" for our challenge. I did a layout and yes, if you notice a title missing from my layout, you are right. I got everything done but the title when my Gypsy died on me. So I charged it and cut out my title later. My title is from Pack Your Bags Cricut cartridge, A Trip 2 the Beach, and it goes in the top right hand corner of my second page. I used Life's a Beach as well for this layout. I only left room for 2 photos, both 4x6.  The 4x6 on the left could also be broken down into 3 2x3 pictures, so that may change, not sure. We are going to Myrtle Beach and I will use this layout for a couple of pics from that trip. It will be good to see some family, it is has been about 10 years or more since we've been down there, so I am so ready to go! lol Please go check out what wonderful beach inspiration my design team sisters have for you over at BBTB2, I know you will find lots of inspiration from them! Then why not make a beach project of your own and link up with us?! You know how much we love it when you get crafty with us!!

Summer-Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you are having a wonderful Friday!  Time for another Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and our theme this week is Summer.  So made a little mini banner using the chipboard banner pieces that come with the Cricut Art Philosophy cart. I cut my designer papers to size, inked around all my banner pieces with Vintage Photo distress ink. Then using the same cartridge I cut the letters "s,u,m,m,e,r" and added them to my banner pieces. I think I will add some embellishments to this cute banner, but I didn't know just exactly what I wanted to add yet, so I'm just going to look at it for a while and see what comes to mind. Simple, easy and cute-perfect for me! lol Please go to Jo's Scrap Shack and see what inspiration  my design team sister have for you and then join us using this theme!

I Scream, You Scream....BBTB2 Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I am hosting over at BBTB2 and for our challenge I chose ice cream since July is Nat'l Ice Cream month. So we all got crafty using ice cream die cuts! For my ice cream card, I used the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge. I made a 4x9 inch tall card, love this size!! My card base is white, the pattern paper layer is from DCWV Sweet stack, then I used a chocolate Bazzil paper for the next layer, then topped that with a punched border from a MS doily punch.  I have a sundae die cut with chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and a sweet glittery cherry on top, cherry glittered with stickles. I inked my ice cream layers with distress inks, for the strawberry scoop I used Worn Lipstick, for the vanilla scoop I used Antique Linen, and for the chocolate scoop I used Walnut Stain. For the dish I used Broken China distress ink.  I used glossy accents to make my glass dish shiny and I also outlined the ice cream scoops then sprinkled white flower soft to give the illusion that the ice cream is frosty. Not sure I pulled that off, but think it looks cool anyway. lol The ribbon is from my stash and not sure where it came from. I layered the inside with the same papers from the front. I haven't put any sentiments on it because I'm not sure if I'm going to use this card for a birthday card or what. So I will wait to add the sentiments. Please go over and check out what wonderful inspiration my design team sisters have for you and then why not make an ice cream project and link up with us?!! Just please read the rules on the side bar at BBTB2. We so love it when you get crafty with us!!

Wish on the Stars-Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends! A happy Friday to you all and as you know if it is Friday it is time for a new challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack. This week we were given this inspiration photo to go by.

So I what came to my mind was a mason jar filled with stars falling out the sky and you know whenever a star falls we wish on it. lol I know corny, but that is what came to my mind and that's what I went with.  For my mason jar I used the Stitched Chunky Jar dies from My Creative Time, my cloud SU clouds embossing folder for my sky, my sentiment is on a label from the Chunky Jar Accessories from My Creative Time and my grass is from a punch by Fiscars.  The star buttons are Stitched Button dies from My Creative Time as well. My sentiment is an old My Pink Stamper set. For my jar I cut out one in paper and one from left over plastic from the clam packaging. On the white paper one I used my Spectrum Noir marker to shade the jar to make it look like glass and then glued my stars down. After having all my star buttons down I then used glossy accents to glue the plastic jar over the paper jar to give it that look of glass once again.  I think that is it! I hope you get some humor from my card and don't think it is too corny. lol So go and catch a mason jar full of falling stars this summer and make lots of wishes!! Ok now it is your turn, go to Jo's Scrap Shack and read the rules and see who the sponsor is this week then use the inspiration photo and make a project then link it up with us! You know we love when you get crafty with us!

First Birthday-SOUS Die Challenge

Hello my crafting friends, happy TGIF to you all! I sure don't know where these weeks go but they sure do fly by don't they?! Well it is time for another die cut challenge over at SOUS. Our theme was a flourish. The Cricut Imagine Yummy cartridge has some cute flourishes on it, so that is what I went with for my grand-daughters first birthday pictures. I know that the picture of the orange/yellow cake doesn't go with the color scheme, but that's the cake we ate so I included it in there for her. These layouts will go to my grandchildren when they are grown or I pass. I used the Yummy cartridge for the die cuts as well as the dark brown swirl paper. I used brown Bazzil paper as my base, then my light pink paper is cut down to 11 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches, I inked the pink paper and all my die cuts with Vintage Photo distress ink. The swirl paper was printed off as a 12 x 12 sheet, I cut it in half and then added some darker pink strips on each side. My pictures on the left side of the layout have been mounted with white and then dark brown, the pictures on the right side are not mounted. I hope you will go check out the inspiration my design team sisters have for you with using flourishes. Then link up with your flourish project with us, we love when you get crafty with us! Happy crafting everyone!

You know the rules and if you don't please go over to BBTB2 and read them on the right side bar. For my project I made a 6x6 card. I used Dreams Come True and cut Pocahontas out at 4.50 inches. I layered some paper from my scrap stash on a white base and then layered the white base onto a black card base. I used My Creative Time stamps for my sentiments along with a little inking with Broken China distress ink, an SU Framelets to cut out my sentiments, layered an SU punch under the Framelets on the front of the card and then did the inside of my card. Plain and simple! I hope you will join us this week and make a Disney project too!

Anything Goes! Funday Friday Challenge

Hello my crafty friends, I hope you had a fabulous 4th of July. Maybe some will be celebrating this weekend as well, just be careful and safe with any fireworks you may have!  It's time for another Funday Friday over at Jo's Scrap Shack and the theme is anything goes! Well I had no mojo what so ever. So my little card is plain but still kinda' cute. I had a little digi I colored in a while back, so I thought I would use her to send to Madison for IFTL project. A little girls needs some sweet cards to cheer her up. Read all about it here. I used my Spectrum Noir's to color her and then the rest of the paper is from my scrap stash. Buttons are from SU. Sentiments are from stamps from the dollar bin at Michael's. And of course the Threading Water punch, which I just love. That's about it! Told you it was simple and plain. Now for this week's challenge over at Jo's you can enter as many times as you want because it is anything goes! How cool is that?!!
