Pineapple Fields? Nope, it is Corn!

Hello Crafty Friends!  It's Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  This week at Sweet Sassy Diva we were to do a lo using this sketch.
LO sketcch
So I started by gathering some papers that I wanted to use and getting my mats ready.

Then I punched out my layer and did a test run to see how I like my elements together.
Uh, no the tractor tire paper wasn't working for me. lol  So I replaced that with paper that was a corn field.  That works much better!! So I glued everything down.
Next I did my title on my Gypsy welding it together.  I used the Billionaire font and I used Pop Up Neighborhood for my corn stalks.  I glued my title down, added some doodling, then I layered my corn stalks and stickled the corn.  Yes, I can find a way to use bling even on farm pages. lol

And here is my completed lo.  Please excuse the two pictures on the right.  I was printing them when I ran out of ink, so the color is off by a lot.  I will have to reprint these two when I get more ink.
Here are a few close ups:

I hope that you have been inspired to use some sketches!  They sure do come in handy for when you are having one of the lack of mojo times!!

Daisy Wreath

Hi my crafty friends!  This week at SweetSassyDiva we are doing projects with spring blooms.  For my project I decided to do a wreath made of daisies mums and some butterflies.  I started out with designing my flowers and butterflies from Flower Shoppe and Hannah Montana on my Gypsy.  Then I got a straw wreath form from Hobby Lobby and wrapped it with shear ribbon.  Sorry, I thought that I took a pic of the wreath wrapped but I didn't.  So next I got to cutting my daisies, and I cut many of them in different sizes.  I started with one size and then went down a quarter of an inch for each layer.  I had many sizes to work with.  I then scored down the center of each petal on each layer.
I rolled, pinching my score lines on each of my layers and stacking and gluing.  I had all my centers cut in yellow and all ready rolled and glue.

And here is what my largest daisy mum looks like.
I then cut out a lot of leaves in different sizes using a leaf from Flower Shoppe and a branch of leaves from Storybook.  I probably won't use all these leaves, but I wanted to have an assortment to work with once I started assembling my wreath.

Here is the final project all assembled and hanging on my door.  Please don't look to hard at my bow, I'm not much of a bow maker!!! lol And I apologize for the bad photo, pic was taken at night.    I think my wreath looks pretty good, just screaming spring and I am tickled pink with how it turned out!!!  I hope that the DT inspires you this week to work on a spring project with flowers!!

For my second day project I decided to go with gift bags.  I'm mean just like birthday cards, you can never have to many gift bags for your gifts right?!!  For the first bag I used a bag off of Plantin Schoolbook cart and cut it fit to page on a 12x24 mat.  I assembled my bag and then cut the flower from Flower Shoppe (flower 33 on the overlay, the flower center is 3 on the overlay and the leaf is 43 on the overlay) for my decoration on the bag, I also used Home Decor for the swirl. My flower parts I cut from white paper and just inked the outside of the flower as well as the flower center.  I also added some yellow ink to the flower center.  It is a nice size bag, not to big and not too small.

For this next bag, I used a plain brown bag that I already had on hand.  I used card stock and added to the front and then did another flower and swirl for on the front as well as Paper Lace for the birthday wishes.  Here is a step by step tutorial on how I made my flowers.
Here are my flowers and leaves.  I started out with a certain size and then came down by a 1/4 inch for each flower layer and I have 6 layers for this flower.

I inked my flowers and rolled my center.

Then I put hot glue on the little tab and cupped my flower by gluing together.

I then roll my flowers with my largest ball stylus to give my flowers/petals a more natural look to them.
And here is what it looks like once all assembled!  I did turn my petals back on my two outside layers.

I inked and shaped my leaves and then glued them onto my flower.  Then all you have to do it attached my flower to your project!  Easy as that!!!  I hope that you have enjoyed this hop.  It sure was fun for me and I know we had lots of talented ladies in this hop!!  I hope you have been inspired to get crafty!

Remember to leave me a comment and I will put your name in for a $10 gift card from either Hobby Lobby or JoAnns!!!

One random winner will be chosen on Wednesday, March 14th, giving you plenty of time to finish the hop.

I wanted to give a shout out to my special friend, Suzanne, as today is her birthday.  Happy Birthday Suz!!!!  Wishing you many, many more my friend!!!  And of course our other birthday girl is Bobbi Jo, for whom this hop is for-Happy Birthday Bobbi Jo!!!!

Well what is a birthday hop without some birthday cards??  I don't know about you all, but I always am in need of birthday cards in my stash, so I have made three cards.   For the first two, I used Damask Decor cart using the card feature.  Love the card feature and will be making more cards from it!!
This cupcake card I just keep simple.  I didn't do anything to alter the card except stretched it to fit in a 5 x 7 envie and card base. I also used My Creative Time die and stamp for my sentiment.

For this present card, I stretched it as well to fit a 5x7 base and envie.  I also added a cupcake and put it on an homemade action wobble. Once again I used My Creative Time die and sentiment.
For this card I used the card feature on the Birthday bash cart and it is an A2 size.  I put my little fox on another homemade action wobble.  I just love these homemade action wobbles!! Love to play with it too! lol  So now I have three more cards for my stash.  I hope you find some inspiration and make some extra cards for your stash as well!!

Now I won't make anyone become a follower to win my blog candy, but would appreciate it if you did.  For my blog candy I will be giving away a $10 gift card to either Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's!!  So leave me a comment for both days and your name will be entered.  I will use Random Generator to pick my winner.  Enjoy the rest of the teams projects, I think you are in for an awesome day both days!!

Thank you for checking out my project. I hope that you will become a follower of http://sweetsassydiva-gspot.blogspot.com/ and leave a comment. The fun doesn't end here though so be sure to hop on over to the talented Shawnee http://quiverofangels.blogspot.com/ .

Chase a Rainbow!

Hi all you crafty friends!  Brenda here from Friends Craftin with Friends.  This week on Sweet Sassy Diva we were challenged to use things like a rainbow, leprechan, pot of gold, green, etc...So I knew right away what I wanted to do.  One New Year's Day we had a shower come through, then the sun came out and with all the black angry clouds was this beautiful double rainbow!!  So of course I had to take pics of it.  So that is what inspired my layout for today.

I knew that I wanted to print some cloud paper as the base to my layout and I did so by using the Imagine cart "Best Friends".  Searched my Gypsy for images and to lay out my design. The cart I ended up using was "Simply Charmed" and one little cloud from "Pooh and Friends".
Next I cut out, inked and assembled all my images. For my inks I used Tim Holtz distress inks: Vintage Photo, Scattered Straw, Barn Door, Pumice Stone, and Peeled Paint.

Here are my die cuts all assembled, inked and stickled.

Then I printed my base paper from my Imagine using the "Best Friends" cart.  For the bottom of my base I used some green pattern paper from DCWV Farmers Market stack, love this print-reminds me of St. Patricks day. lol
Next I started placing my die cut images around on my base papers like I had it on my Gypsy.  The only thing I ended up changing was a pic size and orientation.  I thought I had taken a vertical picture, but I didn't.

Thanks for joining us here at Sweet Sassy Diva, I hope you find lots of inpiration this week!  Be sure to come back and see what all the Design Team has in store you for, I promise you won't be disappointed!!
